Treatment Services
Dr. Groth’s goal is to help you achieve your goals through a collaborative process.

Therapy
Child, Adolescent and Adult Therapy (4 years old +)
Therapy is a collaborative process between the therapist and client to work together in addressing the client’s needs and meeting their goals. Together, we will explore developmental history, thought and behavior patterns, and interpersonal dynamics as they relate to your mental health. The therapy will be shaped to meet your unique and personal needs.
Child & Adolescent Therapy
Therapy for children and adolescents will be shaped to meet the needs of the child and their family. This will include individual sessions with the child, as well as parent and parent/child sessions. In addition to providing a safe space for the child to share about difficulties, thoughts, and feelings, I will integrate evidence-based interventions to help reframe maladaptive thoughts and adjust maladaptive behaviors. Additionally, I will provide parents with suggestions for responding to and addressing their child’s thoughts and behaviors outside of the therapy (e.g., in the home, community). I specifically use CBT, DBT, and parent management techniques.

Cognitive Remediation
Cognitive Remediation for Individuals
Post Concussion, TBI, & Stroke

Cognitive remediation and rehabilitation are evidence-based interventions for individuals with difficulties or impairments in the following areas: attention and concentration, executive functioning, memory, visual neglect and social communication. This may be appropriate following concussion, brain injury, or stroke.
Developmental Assessments
Developmental Assessments for Infants and Toddlers
(6 months old to 3 years old)

Developmental assessments evaluate cognitive, language, and motor development of infants and toddlers to determine whether they are meeting milestones and developing as expected for their age. These assessments are appropriate for cognitive or developmental concerns related to conditions such as complex birth, prematurity, low birth weight, or congenital or genetic conditions. By looking at the way your baby thinks, communicates, and moves in comparison to what most children can do at certain ages, we can determine the necessary supports to benefit your child and promote appropriate development, such as speech/language therapy, occupational therapy, or physical therapy.

Autism Evaluations
Using the ADOS
For concerns for autism spectrum disorder, I use standardized measures to help assess for features of autism spectrum disorder in children. I specifically use the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule™(ADOS™-2), which is a standardized assessment of communication, social interaction, play, and restricted and repetitive behaviors in children. During an ADOS™-2 assessment, I interact directly with the child in social and play activities.
